It has been a busy few months with ever-changing developments. If you have staff on furlough, a reminder that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme requires employer contributions from 1 August.

Here’s the timeline.

  • 1st August 2020: employers to pay NI & pension contributions. Government continues to pay 80% of furlough pay.
  • 1st September 2020: government pays 70% of furlough pay, employer pays 10%.
  • 1st October 2020: government pays 60% of furlough pay, employer pays 20%.
  • 30th October: scheme ends.
