Bespoke Company Documentation

The Challenge

A Bespoke HR Health Check revealed that a small company of twenty staff had no employment contracts or other company documentation. The Company Directors all had differing views on what was needed.

Bespoke Documentation:

Bespoke HR worked with the three Company Directors to establish what verbal employment terms and conditions were in place, and the current working practices with regards to company policy. A review was conducted to assess whether these policies were reflective of what the company was hoping to achieve. Bespoke HR then provided draft documentation that was legally compliant while also ensuring that only the necessary documentation is in place thus avoiding unnecessary 'red tape'.

The Results

A universal message and strategy was developed with the Directors to allow the company to move forward in a positive direction. Contracts, job descriptions, a company handbook, and an appraisal system were all implemented. Bespoke HR also met with employees to help them adapt their working practices to meet the needs of the business. The total cost was in the region of £6000.

The Challenge

One of our clients was looking to expand - the right people were needed to help drive the business forwards in the right direction. Bespoke HR handled the recruitment process from start to finish. Having identified the candidate requirements we selected the best medium for advertising, placed the advert, collected applicant CVs and conducted first stage interviews at our offices. Having identified the best applicants, we then worked with our clients to conduct second-round interviews.

The Results

The best candidate was selected for the position and the Company only needed to be involved in the crucial last step. All the time-consuming paperwork was handled by Bespoke HR. A typical charge for recruitment is approximately £1,500 - £1,800 but will depend on the position and nature of the business. This is a substantial saving compared to recruitment agents who typically charge 12 to 15% of the annual salary.

Bespoke HR can help companies with the management and organisation of company restructures. The nature of small businesses means that companies can often find themselves overstaffed, or in a position where the business has changed and the current staff skill-set does not meet the needs of the business.

Bespoke HR can manage the whole process from assessing the needs of the individual business through to dealing with redundancies if necessary.

Bespoke Company Restructure:

The Challenge

A small company of 35 people was suffering from the ill effects of a lack of company structure. Bespoke HR conducted an assessment of the current staffing levels and evaluation of the roles of all the employees. It became clear that several roles within the company were being duplicated and no defined company structure led to inefficient working practices.

Bespoke Company Restructure

Bespoke HR worked with the management team to develop a new company structure. This was followed by the development of job descriptions including key competencies and objectives in order to measure staff performance moving forwards.

Bespoke HR communicated the company restructure to employees and fully managed the process. New roles were filled with the right candidates and necessary redundancies were handled according to employment law.

The Results

The company now employees 22 people and is running more efficiently, effectively and profitably. Staff moral has improved as individuals feel the benefits of having their roles clearly defined. In addition the wage bill has decreased drastically.

The company wanted this process managed over a lengthy period of time (approximately 4 months). The cost of this was in the region of £4,000; a fraction of the savings made from reducing the wage bill.
